The Bellevue Owls 2017 football team has put the pads on this week getting ready for the season.

The Owls hope to rebound from an injury-filled season in 2016.  The Owls finished 0-6 last season under first year coach Paul Evetts.

“I’m excited to get the year started with this group,” stated Evetts.

“Our group seems to be coming together as we put the pieces together to fill positions, the coach added.

On the offensive side of the ball the Owls will rely on Isom Church, Keandre Johnson, Davone Darden, Terrance Talley and Jaden Sutton to either carry or catch the football.

Jonson and Talley will battle for the quarterback spot.

“We are still looking to fill spots up front on the offensive line,” sEvetts said.

Sean Marshall,  Kyle Hicks,  and Bobby Key are some notable names to fill those.

On defense Church,  Johnson,  Markelos Owens,  James Steele,  and Kyle Hicks will battle for LB spots.

Filling the bookends will be Talley ,  Adrian Zachery, Marshall, and Steele.

The secondary will be lead by Davone Darden,  Jaden Sutton,  Steven Rivers,  and Reco Mcdowell.

The Owls open the season on Sept. 14 at home against West End. Kick-off at 5:30.
