Lions Roar in Rout of Greenbrier

The Christ Presbyterian Academy varsity football team looked strong for a second week in a row, routing Greenbrier 46-19.

Sam West got things going for CPA with a 20-yard touchdown burst in the first quarter to give the Lions the lead 7-0.

Lion quarterback Ryan Eledge took over in the second period, tossing three touchdown passes to stretch the Lion lead to 32-12 at the half.

Eledge found Bryce McCormick from 17 yards for the first touchdown, then connected with Noah Henderson twice, once from 16 yards and the other from 19 yards for two more scores.

Eledge capped off a drive in the third quarter with a 1-yard toss to McNeill Stout to stretch the lead to 39-12.

Noah Parker capped off the night with a 80-yard interception return for the Lions’ final touchdown.

Eledge finished 5 of 7 for 53 yards and three touchdowns.

James Deaton once again carried the load on the ground, rushing for 175 yards on just 15 carries.
