"The home of hometown heroes"

Ensworth got a big win this past Friday with 24-13 victory over JPII in a big division game played under the lights in Bellevue.

The Tigers continued to run the ball well and play great defense, improving their overall record to 3-2 on the season. Junior Nicky Clifton led the offensive attack with 129 yards rushing on 14 carries.

Junior Jaylon King added eight rushes for 59 yards and a TD.  King was also 6 for 9 for 60 yards passing on the night.

The Tiger defense, giving up just over 11 points a game, proved again to be tough to score on as seniors James Sterchi, Rodney Owens, and Taylor Smith had 20 of Ensworth’s 47 total tackles. Tyler Baron added a sack for the Ensworth defense.

The Tigers first touchdown of the night also came courtesy of the defense as senior linebacker Jarquis Hendricks recovered a fumble and raced 88 yards, putting the Tigers up 7-0.

Kicker Lucas Rodriguez was perfect on the night, making all three extra points and adding a 27-yard field goal. Tim Covington added a 4-yard touchdown run that gave the Tigers some cushion late in the game.

Ensworth looks to build on their two game winning streak next week as they visit the Lions of Christ Presbyterian Academy. Kickoff is at 7:00pm.
