"The home of hometown heroes"

After a tough loss to second ranked McCallie earlier in the week, the Ensworth boys varsity basketball team rebounded against rival Montgomery Bell Academy 51-45.

Neither team could find much offense in the first half.  MBA could only manage eight points in the first quarter, but that was good enough to take the lead because the Tigers could only score seven points.

Things got a little easier for both teams in the second.  Still MBA outscored Ensworth by a single point again to take a 21-19 lead at the half.

The story stayed the same after intermission.  Both teams played slightly better, but MBA outscored the Tiger by one point again to lead 37-34 going into the final quarter.

That’s when Ensworth turned things on on both ends of the court.

The Tigers had their best offensive quarter, scoring 17 points in the fourth, while holding MBA to just eight points to earn the 51-45 win.

Imani Starling led Ensworth in scoring with 16 points, while James Wiseman had another strong game, scoring 14 points.

Warren Zager added nine points for the Tigers, while Lewis McDaniel chipped in five points.

The Lady Tigers had no trouble scoring points against Harpeth Hall. They jumped out to an early lead and cruised to their fifth straight win 70-32 Friday night.

Ensworth outscored Harpeth Hall 42-16 in the first half, and for the most part watched the second team finish the game.

Dontavia Waggoner was the top scorer for Ensworth, pouring in 17 points while Jordyn Cambridge knocked down 16 points for the Lady Tigers.

McLean Whitson scored 11 and Xavia Williams added eight.
