MBA is headed back to the TSSAA Division II championship game after a come-from-behind win over cross-town rival Ensworth in their semi-final playoff game.

The Tigers could not pull off the season sweep of the Big Red, ultimately falling 21-17.

Ensworth was hot early, getting off to a 17-0 lead thanks to the running of Nicky Clifton who had 106 yards on 23 carries.

Quarterback Jaylon King also had a big night, going 12-17 for 108 yards and a touchdown pass. King also ran the ball 9 times for 65 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Senior Peyton Terry had a big play when he sacked MBA quarterback Ty Allen, forced a fumble, and then recovered it.

Allen was held to just three completions on the night.

Ensworth Senior Jalen Theus and Junior Henry Byrd also played well, combining for 11.5 tackles.

The Tigers defense was tough, holding 2016 Mr. Football finalist Ty Chandler to just 79 yards on 20 carries. Unfortunately for the Tigers, Chandler found the end zone twice for the Big Red, who scored 21 unanswered points to advance to the championship game against Brentwood Academy. Ensworth ends the season at 8-4.
