"The home of hometown heroes"

The Ensworth Tigers faced one of their toughest tasks of the season as they played rival Montgomery Bell Academy in the last game of the regular season for both teams. 

MBA controlled the game early, getting out to 10-0 lead on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Ty Allen to Montgomery Owen and a 30-yard Dean Cheevers field goal. 

Ensworth cut the score to 10-7 right before halftime on a 3-yard touchdown run by Nicky Clifton. 

MBA extended their lead to in the second half with another Ty Allen touchdown pass, this time to Jake Evans. Cheevers added his second field goal of the night and the Big Red were up 20-7 heading into the fourth quarter. 

With big support from the loud home crowd, Ensworth battled back to cut the lead to 20-14 on a Jaylon King 1-yard touchdown run with 8:24 to go in the game, capping a 14 play 80-yard drive. 

The Ensworth defense, which has played well all season forced a fumble by Ty Chandler late in the game, setting up the Tigers offense for a last-minute drive. 

With just 25 seconds remaining in the game, tight end Tanner Antonutti caught a 9-yard touchdown pass and Fred Jackson added the extra point, giving the Tigers a dramatic 21-20 victory over the Big Red. 

With the win, the Tigers finished the regular season at 7-3. MBA finishes the regular season at 8-2. Both teams will have a bye in the first round of the upcoming Division II Class AA TSSAA playoffs. 

Ensworth will travel to Memphis on November 11th to face Briarcrest in the quarterfinals. MBA will host the winner of the St. Benedict vs. Christian Brothers game.
