Tigers Stay Perfect With Wins Against Lipscomb

The Tigers took on Lipscomb Academy three times last week in high school varsity baseball action and proved to be too much for the Mustangs to handle.

Ensworth beat Lipscomb 10-0 on Tuesday, 13-3 on Wednesday and 10-7 on Friday.

Christian Dixon threw a gem on Tuesday for the Tigers, earning the shutout. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out 15.

Ensworth notched four runs in the seventh inning. The Tigers’ big bats were led by Devin Obee and Morgan Willis, who all drove in runs.

Ensworth tallied 11 hits on the day. Elijah Brooks, Drew Byers, Rudy Maxwell, and Obee each collected multiple hits.

On Wednesday, the Tigers knocked in seven runs in the fifth on its way to a 13-3 victory. 

The offense was led by Drew Byers, Devin Obee, Morgan Willis, Tanner Antonutti, Rudy Maxwell, and Patrick Vandenbergh, who all drove in runs.

Ensworth pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. They scored on a wild pitch, then Willis singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, and Maxwell singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Ensworth notched seven runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by was led by Byers, Obee, Willis, Antonutti, Maxwell, and Vandenbergh, all driving in runs in the frame.

Gage Young earned the win for Ensworth.  He allowed 11 hits and three runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one.

Ensworth tallied 15 hits on the day. Maxwell, Obee, Byers, Antonutti, and Willis each racked up multiple hits.  

Obee and Maxwell each collected three hits to lead Ensworth.   On defense, the Tigers were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Elijah Brooks made the most plays with six.

There were runs aplenty on Friday, as Ensworth defeated Lipscomb 10-7.

In the first inning, Ensworth got their offense started. Elijah Brooks drew a walk, scoring one run.

Brooks earned the win for Ensworth... He went four innings, allowing six runs on ten hits and striking out four.

Patrick Vandenbergh and Tanner Antonutti entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Antonutti recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Ensworth.

 Ensworth tallied ten hits in the game. Rudy Maxwell, Morgan Willis, and Devin Obee all collected multiple hits.

Maxwell led the Tigers with three hits in five at bats.

Lipscomb Academy tallied 13 hits. T Williams, Adamaitis, and Nick Paschall each racked up multiple hits for Lipscomb Academy.
