Last week was a busy sports week.

The Ensworth boys tennis improve to 3-0 with exciting 4-3 win over St. George’s (Memphis)

In the best match of the season to date, the boys improved to 3-0 on the season. After barely dropping the doubles point, Sam Johnston won 6-3, 6-2, Jamen Rollins battled to win 3-6, 6-2, (10-2), Owen Alsup came from behind to win 1-6, 6-4, (10-6) to even the score at 3-3. Ben Firestone was the last and deciding match which he won 6-4, 4-6, (10-8). 

Ensworth Girls Tennis Defeat St. George’s (Memphis) 6-1.

Singles winners were Maggie Cannata, Natalie Overby, Josephine Bass, Anna Chambers, and Avery Smith. The doubles point was won by wins from the teams of Overby/Bass, Cannata/Civitts, and Chambers/Smith. 

Varsity Girls Lacrosse defeated Franklin 10-4 on Wednesday. Lanier Mason and Caroline Frist had three goals each, Claire Cato had five caused turnovers, CeCe Bayliff had three draw controls, an Lola Duff had seven saves. The Tigers defeated Seymour 18-4 on Saturday. Lanier Mason lead with six  goals, followed by Lowery Nickels with three goals and Ann Grace Cox with two. Claire Cato had four caused turnovers and Lola Duff had eight saves. The defending state runners-up are now 7-1 and face Ravenwood and Creekview this week.
