"The home of hometown heroes"

With league play over two weeks ago,  Coach Black and Coach Grinder decided to put together a tournament team to represent the Bellevue area in a few local tournaments.

All the 10-U coaches were interviewed about players, availability and player determination and a roster was put together a week before the first tournament.

The team name is Fury and the girls are excited to be playing.  With one practice under their belts,  they went to the Mt. Juliet Zaxby’s Classic State and World NSA tournament.

It was a great learning experience and the team came away with a new understanding of how to play the game.

There were four other teams in the rec league division.  Two games were played to set the standings in the brackets.  After that,  it was double elimination.

The Fury tried hard,  but weren’t able to pull off a win.  They were able to steadily increase their abilities to score and their abilities to play defense.

Game 1 was against Crossfire out of Mt. Juliet.  Crossfire won 13-1.  Luci Grinder and Brooklyn Baldwin were on the mound.  Luci Grinder scored the only run.

Game 2 vs. Goodlettsville Storm.  The storm won 15-1.  Makenzie Black pitched and Tayler Tanksley scored the lone run.

Game 3 was with the TN Thunder, another Mt. Juliet team.  The Thunder won 8 to 4, but we showed much improvement!

Brooklyn Baldwin and Luci Grinder were on the mound.  Brooklyn hit two singles and scored.

Makenzie Black hit a long double and scored.  Addison Oberbreckling singled and scored.  Luci Grinder hit a long single and Rachel Drake scored for the team.

Game 4 was against Crossfire again.  Makenzie Black and Luci Grinder pitched for the Fury.

Crossfire won 16-5.  Despite the lop-sided loss,  the girls scored more than the previous games and did well the first inning.

Brooklyn Baldwin, Makenzie Black and Raelyn Heightman all singled and scored.  Hannah McCormick hit a big double and Rachel Drake and Megan Schelling both scored for the team.

Next weekend the girls’ travel to Columbia, TN for the NSA Schutt State Tournament.
