The Hillwood High School varsity baseball team lost the lead late  and fell 2-1 to Gallatin on Saturday, unfortunately wasting once again a strong performance from pitcher Rolly Hunt

Hillwood was down 1-0 in the top of the sixth inning when James Galloway doubled, driving in one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Gallatin pitchers struck out nine, while Hillwood hurlers sat down five

Gallatin took an early lead in the first inning. McWhirter doubled on a 1-2 count in the first inning, scoring one run.

Rolly Hunt was strong once again for Hillwood taking another tough loss. He threw five innings, allowing one run, four hits, and striking out four.

James Galloway and Hale Page each managed one hit to lead Hillwood.

Harris earned the win for Gallatin. He went six innings, allowing one run, two hits, striking out eight, and walking zero. 

Gallatin’s closer came in and recorded the last three outs to earn the save.
