Hillwood Gets Much Needed Win v Glencliff

"The home of hometown heroes"

The Hillwood High School varsity baseball team  jumped all over Glencliff from the first inning and kept it going in a much-needed 12-2 victory. 

Hillwood scored on a double by Patrick Coyle and a single by Dustyn Hoard in the first inning.  Coyle doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

The Hilltoppers scored five more  runs in the fourth inning. Hillwood’s big inning was driven by a triple by Matthew Gibson and a double by Matthew Coyle.

Gibson earned the win for Hillwood. He threw six innings, allowing two runs, four hits, striking out ten, and walking one. 

Robertson took the loss for Glencliff. He went five innings, surrendering nine runs, seven hits, and striking out two.

Hillwood had ten hits in the game. Dustyn Hoard, Coyle, and Xavier Gilliam each collected multiple hits for the Hilltoppers.  Hillwood stole 15 bases during the game as four players stole more than one.
