Lady Eagles Finish Great Year in Playoffs

The Nashville Christian School’s girls varsity volleyball team wrapped up a successful 2016 season with a runner-up finish in district play and a berth in the regionals.

“This team had an incredible amount of tenacity,” said head coach Kayce Green.

“With five and sometimes six seniors on the floor, I watched four and five years of hard work come to fruition,” she said.

Green said this group was particularly special to her because some have been in the program since the eighth grade.

“This team had the most knowledge offensively and defensively, and because of that we were able to graduate to a fast play offense, faster than any team at NCS has been able to accomplish,” she said.

Sonja Shelton was named the Offensive MVP for District 10A, while Rachel Wiley was the District’s Defensive MVP.

Brittan Jarrell, Kallie Nixon and Abby Varner were named to the All-District and All-Tournament teams, while Shelton was named to the All-Region team.
