"The home of hometown heroes"

The Nashville Christian School girls varsity basketball team continued to enjoy a winning season, bringing home three more victories this week.

On Monday, the Lady Eagles were all over Kipp Academy of Nashville, shutting them out in the first and third quarters and giving up only three baskets the whole game in a 49-6 win.

Ten Lady Eagles scored, led by Abby Paige and Kessler Quinn who each scored a game-high 12 points.

Sonja Shelton scored six points for NCS, while Tassy Lyles added five and McKenna Paszek netted four points.

Tollie Boone, Kayli Mothershed, Bryanna Lawless-Sherrill, Karmen Drake and Brittan Jarrell each score two points for NCS.

Last Thursday was Senior Night at NCS and the Lady Eagles hosted Aaron Academy.  The Lady Eagles used big second and third quarters to earn a 46-27 victory.

Sonja Shelton led NCS with 19 points while Tassy Lyles scored 11 points and Karmen Drake netted eight points.

Brittan Jarrell also played well for NCS, scoring five points, while McKenna Paszek added two and Kessler Quinn one point each.

The Lady Eagles improved their record to 16-6 on the season.

In boys varsity action this week, senior Ben Feldman scored 14 points in leading the Eagles to a 72-62 exciting win on Senior Night at NCS.

The Eagles were consistent all night, using a balanced attack that saw four NCS players score in double figures.

Besides Feldman, Brant Lawless, Chandler White and Slater Howard were in double figures. Lawless finished with 12 points, White added 11 and Howard 10 for NCS.

Andrew Sullivan also played well for the Eagles, scoring nine points, while Jacob Ogle added eight points, Miles Smith scored five points and Luke Denton added three points.

The Eagles took an early 19-10  lead in the first, but Aaron scored 28 points in the second to take a 38-37 halftime lead.

But the Eagle defense clamped down and held Aaron to just six points in the third.  That gave the Eagles a 10-point lead entering the fourth, and they would hold on from there to earn the win.
