NCS Outgains BGA, But Lose on Road

Nashville Christian lost in a match-up last Friday night against Battle Ground Academy, 21-13.
The Eagles once again got off to a slow start, as BGA gained a 21-0 lead to start the game off. Nashville Christian was able to hold BGA scoreless the rest of the game, but the Eagles were only able to put 13 points up on the board.
Nashville Christian was able to out gain BGA, 338 yards to 274 yards, but that didn’t equate to the scoreboard.
NCS was able to gain 220 yards on the ground on 38 attempts, while BGA ran for 51 yards on 23 attempts.
BGA gained more yards through the air as Drew Martin of BGA threw for 223 yards on 18-25 passing, as well as one touchdown pass.
Chad Kinnard threw for 118 yards on 10-19 passing with one touchdown and one interception.
Xavier Myers was a work horse for Nashville Christian as he ran for 226 yards on 37 attempts and one touchdown, as well as a 31 yard touchdown reception.
Jesse Watson was a key target for Chad Kinnard to throw to as he had 54 yards on 4 receptions.
On the defensive end, Zach Young led Nashville Christian in tackles as he had 4.5 tackles.
Jesse Parrish and Brant Lawless weren’t far behind as they both had four tackles.
Lawless also had two sacks and three tackles for loss to go along with those four tackles.
Nashville Christian heads to Fayette Academy next Friday. Fayette Academy is located just outside of the Memphis area.
NCS vs Fayette Academy
Nashville Christian heads down all the way to the Memphis area this Friday as they take Fayette Academy. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Both teams head into this game 0-2. Both teams need this win to help push start their district schedule.
A few players to watch in this game for Nashville Christian are Xavier Myers and Chad Kinnard.
Xavier Myers had his season debut last week against BGA and it was a good one. He rushed for 226 yards on 37 attempts. He’s a huge threat offensively for Nashville Christian, and will play at safety when he is healthy. Look for Xavier to create some noise this week in the backfield.
Chad Kinnard has stepped into the quarterback position and has done what was expected of him. He has thrown for 187 yards on 18 of 37 passing, as well as two touchdown passes. Chad has been consistent and should look to have a good game against Fayette Academy.
Rube Scott Rhea is a player to watch for during this matchup on Friday night. He is a do it all player for Fayette Academy and has passed for 174 yards on the year on 14-27 passing, with one touchdown.
He has also rushed for 185 yards on 32 attempts with one touchdown. He also plays defense for Fayette Academy as well.
Defensively, Hunter Pulliam is a player to watch for as he leads Fayette Academy with 16 total tackles, one TFL and three sacks.
This is an interesting game for both teams are they are looking for their first win.
A win here for Nashville Christian would not only be their first win this season, but it would also be a district win.
The Eagles had high expectations coming into this season for this district, and can help push start those expectations with a win this Friday.
