NCS Wins Big on the Road at FRA

Nashville Christian traveled across town to Franklin Road Academy on Friday night, and came out with a big W.
It was a back and forth game the entire night, with both team trading blows. Nashville Christian came out on top, 25-22.
Nashville Christian got on the board first with a 22-yard pass from Chad Kinnard to Jesse Watson to make is 6-0.
FRA scored right before halftime to take the lead 7-6.
Nashville Christian started off the second half strong as they took the opening drive and scored on an Xavier Myers 12-yard run to put the score at 12-7.
The rest of the third quarter was slow as neither team scored.
FRA started the fourth quarter off strong as they scored to take a 15-12 lead.
Soon after FRA scored, Xavier Myers took the ball 52 yards to the house to regain the lead.
FRA didn’t back down though, as they took the ball and scored making it 22-19 with just over four minutes left.
Nashville Christian was driving down the field, when Xavier Myers busted out a 16-yard run.
Behind the play at the 50 yard line, lineman Maverick Marlin was down. He was down on the field for about 15-20 minutes with a neck injury.
The paramedics took him to the hospital for precautionary reasons, and was later diagnosed with a mild concussion and a strain in his neck.
When play continued, Xavier Myers took the ball 17 yards to the house, dragging around and running over FRA defenders to put the score at 25-22.
Nashville Christian had a huge defensive stand to get the ball back and run the clock out to win the game.
Nashville Christian was able to outgain FRA throughout the night They outgunned them 326-291.
The Eagles were able to establish their offense throughout the night with the run game.
Xavier Myers had another huge game for the Eagles, gaining 220 rushing yards on 22 attempts and three touchdowns.
Chad Kinnard went 8-17 for 101 yards on the night with one touchdown.
Jesse Watson was Kinnard’s favorite receiver on the night as he had five receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Elijah Reid also had two receptions for 32 yards.
Linebackers Jesse Parrish (8 tackles, 1 TFL), Daniel Watson (6 tackles, 1.5 TFL) and Sid Morris (4 tackles) all had a solid night for the Eagles defensively.
Brant Lawless (8 tackles, 2 sacks and 3.5 TFL) and Will Irwin (6 tackles and a TFL) helped create havoc all night on the line for the Eagles.
Jesse Watson (5 tackles) and Zach Young (4 tackles, 0.5 TFL) had a good night in the secondary.. They had a tough task of stopping FRA’s playmakers QB Eric Stoxstill-Diggs and WR Lance Wilhoitte.
Nashville Christian has their homecoming this week, and will face Rossville Christian Academy. Rossville Christian is searching for their first win of the season, coming into this game 0-6.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m., with homecoming festivities beforehand.
