During a crazy week with unpredictable weather, Nashville Christian was able to play two games over the course of last week.

They were scheduled to play four games, but were only able to get two.  The Eagles games against the Knights and Friendship Christian were canceled.

The Eagles were finally able to get in a game on Thursday night against Mt. Juliet Christian.

In that game NCS hitters weren’t able to get their bats going at all . That combined with a few mistakes in the field spelled disaster as Mt. Juliet Christian capitalized on those opportunities, winning 9-0.

Friday was a much different story for Nashville Christian. The Eagles found their bats in this game, beating up on Hendersonville Christian, winning 16-0.

The Eagles then had a district game on Monday at Goodpasture.

Goodpasture got on the board first, scoring one run in the first inning.    The Eagles were able to find their bats in the top of the fourth inning.

Jack Elliott got the Eagles on the board with a two-run home run, driving in Ben Simpson.

Brant Lawless, the next batter, hit another home run to the opposite field, putting the Eagles up 3-1.

Ben Simpson hit a liner over the second baseman’s head that drove in Chad Kinnard to regain the lead in the top of the seventh inning.

Nick Correll had an outstanding pitching performance, going five innings.

Simpson came in and finished the job for the Eagles, as they picked up a big district win.

The Eagles now have a 3-4 record on the year, with a 1-0 district record. The Eagles will face off against Goodpasture again on Tuesday night.

The Eagles then will face off against Cane Ridge on Friday.
