Eagles Roll on Road at Gordonville

The Nashville Christian School varsity football team played a controlled game on both sides of the ball this week, beating Gordonsville 40-7.

As has been the case this year, NCS jumped out to a quick lead thanks to the big play.

Lelan Wilhoite started thing off for the Eagles with a 61-yard TD sprint in the first quarter.

Xavier Myers joined in the fun with a 83-yard touchdown dash to give NCS a 14-0 lead after one.

The second quarter saw the Eagles score from closer range.  First Brant Lawless punched it in from three yards to stretch the score to 21-0, then Myers found pay dirt again, this time from five yards out to make it 27-0 at the half.

Wilhoite scored on a 10-yard dash to open the third and make it 34-0. After Gordonville scored to end the third, Myers collected a 50-yard bomb from Bryce Pemberton to make it 40-7.

Myers rushed nine times for 111 yards and two TDs and caught three passes for 93 yards and another TD.

Wilhoite carried 11 times for 187 yards and two touchdowns.
