The Nashville Christian School’s boys and girls varsity basketball teams improved their records this week with victories over Houston High School.

The Lady Eagles improved their record to 5-0 with a 46-31 win while the boys evened their record to 2-2 with a 52-45 comeback victory.

The Lady Eagles poured it on in the 2nd and 4th quarters to earn the victory.  Both teams scored just six points in the opening quarter, but NCS pulled away in the second, scoring 17 points while holding Houston to just seven.

Houston managed to cut into the lead in the third, but the Lady Eagles put things away with a 14-7 scoring edge in the fourth to secure the win.

Sonja Shelton led the way with 19 points, while Brittan Jarrell scored 15 points and Abby Page added 8.

The boys were out-played in the first three quarters against Houston, trailing 37-29 going into the fourth, but rallied in the fourth, outscoring Houston 23-8 to earn the win.

Jesse Watson led the Eagles with 18 points while Jacob Ogle scored 12 and Ben Feldman 10.

Boys & Girls Teams Beat Houston HS
