NCS Win Streak Continues v Jackson

After a couple of tough games on the road to start the year, Nashville Christian School is happy to be home.

NCS added to its winning streak on Friday night as they shutout Jackson Christian, 42-0. 

The Eagles started the game off strong and didn’t take their foot off the gas. 

Nashville Christian out gained Jackson Christian big as they were able to record 435 yards of total offense to just 153 yards for JCS. 

NCS was able to establish their offense with the running game again. thanks to a strong performance from the offensive line, which opened huge holes and  helped set the tone throughout the game., helping Nashville Christian get a  

Xavier Myers has another great rushing performance. He ran for 227 yards on just nine attempts, and added four touchdowns. 

That gives Myers 918 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns on the year, after missing the first game due to injury.  The performance earned Myers a nomination for Titans’ Player of the Week.

Chad Kinnard went 8-17 on the night and threw for 134 yards. 

Jesse Watson was Kinnard’s favorite target on the night as he had six of those catches and had 106 receiving yards, adding a rushing touchdown as well. 

The offensive line had a great game, as they helped create holes for Myers all night, and were able to buy Kinnard all kinds of time to throw. 

Nashville Christian had an outstanding defensive performance on the night.

Usually, there is a player to pick out that had a stellar performance, but the entire defensive unit had a great night. 

Nashville Christian’s defense was able to force six sacks, and 11 tackles for loss, on the night. 

Jesse Watson (7 tackles) and Zach Young (6 tackles, 1 TFL) both had a good night in the secondary. 

Linebackers Sid Morris (7 tackles, 1.5 TFLs) and Jesse Parrish (5 tackles, 1 TFL) had a great night as well for the Eagles. 

The defensive line had a great night as well, holding Jackson Christian to only 13 yards. 

Jack Elliot (1.5 sacks),  Aaron Gray (1 sack), Will Irwin (1.5 sacks), and Brant Lawless (1 sack) all created havoc throughout the night. 

Nashville Christian heads to Franklin Road Academy next Friday for a non-district matchup. Kickoff is a 7 p.m.. 

FRA is 2-2 on the year and is coming off of a bye week.
