NCS Continues Winning Ways v Jo Byrns
Nashville Christian School, the defending state champion in Division 1A, continued to pound their opposition, this time it was Jo Byrns who took the beating 51-7.
Lelan Wilhoite got things going for NCS, racing 72 yards for the game’s first score.
After quarterback Bryce Pemberton connected on two long TD passes, the first to Bobby Clark and the second to Andy Sullivan, the Eagles had a 21-0 lead after one quarter.
Xavier Myers rushed 42 yards for a score in the second and the Eagles led 28-0 at the half.
NCS continued to score in the second half. Pemberton found Jesse Watson from 24 yards out to extend the lead to 35-0.
Also in the third, Wilhoite broke free again, this time for a 58-yard touchdown run.
After the NCS defense forced a safety to start the fourth quarter, Pemberton tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Sullivan to make it 51-0.
Pemberton completed only five of his 14 passes, but four were for touchdowns.
Wilhoite needed just five rushes to gain 167 yards and two touchdowns.
NCS gained a total of 331 yards on the ground.
