Eagles Win Tight Contest With MTCS

The Nashville Christian School Eagles proved they could win the close ones, winning 20-17 against a very tough Middle Tennessee Christian School.

Eagles quarterback Bryce Pemberton got NCS on the scoreboard first with a 31-yard scamper, but the extra point failed, giving the Eagles a 6-0 lead.

MTCS came right back with a score of their own, and converted the PAT to take a 7-6 lead after one.

Jesse Watson gave the lead back to NCS with a 29-yard TD run, but the kick missed again giving the Eagles a 12-7 lead.

MTCS with a 62-yard TD pass and a 23-yard field goal to lead 17-12 at the half.

After a scoreless third, Xavier Myers gave the Eagles the lead for good, running 16 yards for the touchdown.  NCS went for two and converted for the 20-17 final margin.

Myers finished with 148 yards on 28 carries to lead the Eagles.

Besides running for the touchdown, Pemberton also completed 3 of 12 passes for 97 yards, with one interception.
