"The home of hometown heroes"

The Nashville Christian School took a 21-10 lead into halftime against Division 3A White House Heritage, but couldn’t hold on, losing a heartbreaker 22-21.

It looked like the Eagles would march to their second win of the season against the larger school in the first half.

After WH Heritage took an early 10-6 lead after the first quarter, NCS came charging back in the second quarter.

Senior quarterback Bryce Pemberton was controlling the ball on offense.  He hit junior Bobby Clark for three big plays totaling more than 90 yards.

Junior Brant Lawless also caught a big catch for 26 yards.

The Eagles outscored WH Heritage 14-0 in the second quarter to take the lead at halftime.21-10.

But unfortunately for the Eagle fans, that would be the only scoring WH Heritage would give up the rest of the game.

They were able to cut the lead to 21-16 at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth, the Eagles again were unable to find the end zone and surrendered the lead 22-21.  That was all the WH Heritage defense would need as they shut out NCS the rest of the way and handed the Eagles their first loss of the season.

Pemberton finished 9 for 15 and 181 yards in the air for NCS. He also carried the ball six times for 12 more yards.

Junior Lelan Wilhoite led the NCS rushing attack with 85 yards on 10 carries.

The Eagles will look to get back on track this week against Monterey.
