"The home of hometown heroes"

The Nashville Christian School  Lady Eagles softball team has started their season off 2-0 with two thrillers!

Nashville Christian hosted it’s home opener to the Spring Hill Lady Raiders this past week. Fans from both sides got what they came for, as they watched the back & forth “nail-biter”.

Spring Hill Senior Gracyn Martin (close friend of the Lady Eagles program) got the show started for the Lady Raiders with a stand-up double in the top of the first. NCS Sophomore, Kayli Mothershed answered with a solo-bomb!

The Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead after four innings. Spring Hill then scored two runs in the 4th, and rallied back in the 6th inning to tie things up. After regulation the game was tied-up 3-3.

The Eagles were able to capitalize on a base hit by Freshman, Karmen Drake, who was knocked in by, Senior Kesler Quin with a walk-off RBI.

Senior, Brittan Jarrell had a very solid performance, going 2 for 3, with two runs, a double, and two stolen bases. Senior, Abbie Page went the distance pitcing the complete eight innings. Senior Katie Cain went 2 for 4, sophomore: Kayli Mothershed was 2 for 4, with one run, a home run, and three RBIs, Freshman Karmen Drake went 1 for 4, and one run. Freshman Kelly Quinn went 1 for 4.

The Lady Eagles would then host last year’s undefeated District rival, East Robertson in another thriller at home!  The game was scoreless after two innings.

ER would strike first putting up two runs in the 3rd. Sophomore Kayli Mothershed answered back in the bottom of the 4th with another solo-shot, to keep the game within one.  As the bottom of the 7th inning approached, The Lady Eagles were down 2-1. Freshman Kendall Mothershed was able to reach base with a walk.  With two outs, and a runner on, NCS lead-off batter senior Tassy Lyles steps up to the plate. Lyles drove the first pitch over the fence and into the creek, for a two-run walk-off homer! NCS wins both of their 1st two games in walk-off fashion!
