The Nashville Notes 9U Baseball Club took home the gold in the McNair Classic over the weekend.

The Notes outscored opponents 76-27 during the 5-game tournament, and out-dueled The Middle Tennessee Renegades 16-6 in Sunday’s Championship game.

The Notes’ bats were hot all weekend long, with six players hitting above .400 (Cory Hoard, Grady Harrison, Luke Wyatt, Brady Schneiderman, Ayden Jackson, and Weston Parker).

Cory Hoard paced the way with a scorching .846 average.  Grady Harrison and Tyler Mullen both hit balls out of the park.

On the mound, the Notes were lead by Carson Hoard who collected two wins in the tournament.

Ayden Jackson, Cory Hoard and Chapman Smith also collected wins for the Notes, who went 5-0 on the weekend.

Smith proved to be most valuable out of the pen, slamming the door in game four and striking out seven in 3 2/3 innings.

Coach Philip Mullen explained “Our boys are playing at a very high level right now; this weekend’s win was an overall team effort,” the coach said.

“Everyone on our roster contributed greatly, in some way shape or form,” he added.

The Notes will look to defend their title this weekend in the BPA Rotary Tournament, to be held in Mt. Juliet.
