WNSL Celebrates Spring Opening Day
Last Saturday the West Nashville Sports League celebrated Opening Day for Spring Sports. Opening Day is a special day for all of our players - it is the beginning of a brand new season - the very first for some of our younger players -complete with brand new uniforms, teammates, and brand new team photos for the parents!
Although the day started out cold and cloudy, it quickly turned into a great day to play some ball!
The Spring Baseball start saw over 1,000 participants age 4-12 taking to eight fields at two locations: Harpeth Hills Church and Edwin Warner Park. Players at Harpeth Hills Church even got a visit from Vanderbilt’s own Mr. C and some of the Commodore football players!
Over at Edwin Warner Park, the second season of WNSL Spring Flag Football also got underway. Although it is the off season for most football teams, WNSL has a group of 400 flag football players that cannot get enough of the game of football. The WNSL even welcomed some of the Bellevue Steelers this fall season and they are a great group to host.
