"The home of hometown heroes"

Despite heavy rains and flooding late in the week, it was a beautiful day for football on Saturday as the Bellevue Steelers played their first game at the new Ensworth High School sports field, welcoming the Donelson Warriors in a TNYFL American Conference matchup.

Fans were treated to a new state-of-the-art facility featuring a two-level parking garage, covered seating, and delicious concessions featuring Zaxby’s chicken sandwiches.

The football games were very entertaining as well, as all five Steelers teams were in action against the Warriors.

The player of the day was BBB player Martez Lamb, who accounted for two touchdowns on the day. His first was a 65-yard touchdown run and the second was tremendous special teams play on the ensuing kickoff.

After Lamb’s touchdown run, Kaleb Johnson’s booming kick went all the way to the goal line and a big hit by Trey Pearson jarred the ball loose from the kick returner.

Lamb was hustling hard down the field and recovered the ball in the end zone for his second touchdown in just a matter of seconds.

The Warriors went on to win the game but it was a good effort by Lamb and the rest of the Steelers.

From the Pee Wees to the big boys, it was fun day for those who came out to Ensworth.

There’s no time for rest as the Steelers are preparing for Homecoming this week against the Percy Priest Ducks.

Celebrating their 41st season, the Steelers will continue the tradition that makes this week so much fun for the community. Come out and enjoy the fun this Friday and Saturday, September 8th and 9th  at Bellevue Middle School.

Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday will be the annual Chili Cookoff and Coaches vs. Parents touch football game, followed by the announcement of the teams and the crowning of our Homecoming King and Queen.

On Saturday, show your Steeler pride and creative side by participating in the Car Decorating Competition.  All competing vehicles will be parking in the grass area next to football field.

Also, be sure to check out the “Dunk Your Coach” dunking booth to see a coach get soaked, as well as other fun and popular carnival games.

The concession stand will be serving up some of your favorite foods such as burgers, hotdogs, wings, fish, and nachos, among other delicious treats.

The weather looks to be great for the five football games starting at 9 a.m. with the Pee Wees.
