"The home of hometown heroes"

The Bellevue Steelers represented well at Nissan Stadium this past Sunday, beating the Hendersonville Mustangs 21-7 in a scrimmage under the lights at Nissan Stadium.

It was a fun filled day as the players and coaches tailgated before he game and then watched the Titans beat the Seahawks.

Drew Bonner and Reshad “Rampage” McDowell accounted for all the scoring the Steelers would need in a huge win. Bonner scored the first touchdown as he powered up the middle on a quarterback keeper to give the Steelers the early 7-0 lead.

The Mustangs answered back with a run up the middle of their own to tie it up at 7-7. After that the tough Steelers defense, led by Jack Henry Jakobik and Jeffrey Anderson shut down the Mustangs.

The lefty McDowell then connected with Bonner on a beautiful 20 yard touchdown pass to make it 14-7. With just a few minutes remaining in the game, Bonner returned the favor as he rolled left and hit McDowell with a laser throw down to the 10 yard line. McDowell broke two tackles and lunged across the goal line for the final score.

It was a great day of blocking, tackling, and execution by the Steelers, under the lights at Nissan Stadium. It was an experience the players and coaches will never forget.

Coach Adam Gregory “to be able to spend the day with this great group of kids and top it off with a victory under the lights at Nissan Stadium is something we will never forget.”

The Steelers go on the road this week to face a tough UNA Bears squad and then return home to Ensworth to close out the regular season.
