Ensworth Athletes Enjoy Winning Week

"The home of hometown heroes"

The Ensworth swim team competed in the State TISCA Championship Meet this week and gave a fine showing.

These are top 16 scoring finishes

Wyatt Mullowney - 11th place in 50 freestyle, 12th place in 100 freestyle 

Jenna Rolfe - 7th place 1-meter diving

JC Robbins - 9th place 1 meter diving

Zac Gammons - 14th place in 100 backstroke

Michael Glasson- 15th place in 100 breaststroke

Women 200 freestyle relay 12th place - Wyatt mullowney, Margaret Johnson, Sarah Francis Morris, Rita Johnson

Men 200 freestyle relay 10th place - Zac Gammons, iain Zwiebel, Will McCall, Michael Demere

Women 400 freestyle relay - 13th place - Wyatt mullowney, Margaret Johnson, Rita Johnson, JC Robbins

Men 400 freestyle relay - 12th place - Zac Gammons, Michael Demere, Austin Morris, Iain Zwiebel 

Team finish combined men and women - 10th place (first time ever in top 10. Highest previous finish was 15th last year)

Men’s team finish 12th place

Women’s team finish - 13th place

Most points we’ve ever scored at state level.

In Ensworth wrestling action, four Tiger wrestlers qualified for the Individual State Championship that will take place at the Williamson Co. Agricultural Center 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday. 

Connor Galvez, Alex Bond, Seve Ortale, and Nathaniel Taylor will all compete for the Tigers.

In basketball news, Jordyn Cambridge (girls), Dontavia Waggoner (girls), and James Wiseman (boys) were selected to the 2016-17 DII-AA  East-Middle All Region Team.

Wiseman was also named a finalist for the Mr. Basketball award. The 6-10 sophomore averages 20 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks for the Tigers this year.

Cambridge again received the nod for Ms Basketball finalist after leading the Lady Tigers to one of their best season.
